Where to cancel
| Where you bought it | Where you cancel | What the terms say |
|---|---|---|
| App Store (iPhone, iPad) | Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Replika | Cancel automatic renewal via Manage App Subscriptions in your iTunes account settings |
| Google Play (Android) | Play Store → Payments & subscriptions | Cancellation only through the marketplace where the subscription was acquired |
| replika.com (Stripe, PayPal) | In your account on the website | Same rule: modify or cancel only where it was bought |
Replika Terms of Service, 30 March 2026, sections 2.4.2 and 3.1. The marketplace may require you to be authenticated under the same user ID as the purchase.
Section 2.4.2: “You must cancel your subscription before it renews each billing period.” Refunds cannot be claimed for any partial-month subscription period.
What happens to the account
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — Pro features stay until then.
- After that the account drops to Free Use, which the terms describe as limited and may be denied “at our own discretion”.
- Fail to pay within 7 days of a due date and the account is downgraded to Free Use automatically.
- Deleting the account in the app is irreversible — all data is removed permanently, and the subscription still ends only at the end of the paid period.
About refunds
Section 2.4.3 is explicit: a purchase through the Apple iTunes Store is final and no refund will be provided; a purchase through the website via Stripe or PayPal is final as well, unless the law requires otherwise. EU residents have a 14-day withdrawal right that is lost the moment the purchase is validated and the digital content is delivered — in practice, immediately. Brazil is given 7 days.
The case for Replika
If Replika works for you, cancelling is a two-tap operation in the store and access runs to the end of the period.
The case for HoneyChat
HoneyChat bills monthly from $4.99, shows its prices before sign-up and gives 20 messages and 3 images a day free — no yearly lock-in and no store in the middle.
